Christmas Decor

Over the years, I’ve learned that Christmas decorating doesn’t need to be complicated. A few favorite pieces, some greenery, and simple seasonal touches can completely change the feel of a room. These timeless Christmas decor ideas include many of the ways I decorate our home now, along with plenty of inspiration that can be adapted to any style.

For the living room, you’ll find cozy Christmas decorating ideas that use simple layers of greenery, plaid, pillows, and natural elements. If a full-size tree isn’t practical, my tabletop Christmas tree ideas show several ways to decorate with smaller trees instead.

Some of my favorite Christmas projects have been the simplest. This pine cone centerpiece uses natural elements and works throughout the holiday season. Just begin with a tray or cake plate, and add a candle surrounded by greenery and ornaments. My last-minute Christmas ideas include several easy centerpiece arrangements made with both real and faux greenery, fruit, ornaments, and things you may already have.

One of my most memorable projects was an ironstone Christmas tree made by arranging white pitchers and bowls on open shelves in the shape of a tree. Greenery and a few ornaments finished the look. It’s definitely an idea for someone who already owns a collection, but it was such a fun way to use pieces I loved.
